HSR Asia 27 returns to Hanoi on 17–18 March 2027, organised by StratComs Events and endorsed by IARO. The theme is “Delivering Asia-Pacific’s Next Generation of High-Speed Rail & Mobility”, around three pillars: connecting countries, integrating mobility and accelerating delivery.
The programme follows a high-speed project from policy, planning and financing through engineering, construction and operations, and how the railway connects with cities, urban rail, regional networks and airports. It also covers cross-border collaboration, private-sector participation, passenger experience and the cost of running a high-speed railway. The organising point is that a line capable of 300–350 km/h is no longer the whole task: it has to join the rest of the transport network.
Vietnam’s planned North–South High-Speed Railway is 1,541 km, designed for up to 350 km/h, at an investment of about US$67 billion, with construction targeted to start in late 2027. Alongside it is the Lào Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong corridor. Australia is moving its first high-speed corridor towards procurement, India is building beyond its first line, Thailand is taking the next stages of its programme forward, and Indonesia’s Whoosh is a working case in financing, ridership and operating economics. Japan, China, Spain, France and India are cited for how a country moves from imported expertise towards its own railway industry.
The conference is for governments, rail authorities, operators, investors and financiers, infrastructure developers, engineering and construction companies, technology providers and mobility specialists. StratComs Events is inviting presentation proposals; abstracts are due on 30 October 2026.
